Book Jacket Series

Finding a new and creative way to combine my lifelong love of books with my career as a collage painter, the series presented here is the perfect marriage of those two parts of my world. Removing the cover of a book that is meaningful to me, be it about art, food, travel or poetry, and blending part of it into a colorful painted background is the jumping off point to these works. Collected papers that reflect the book’s subject, painted papers mimicking fruits, flowers, scenes on Parisian streets or bottles of wine, photos from my travels, music & text…all are incorporated into the work in a way that is both factual and painterly. It is a journey I am thrilled to be taking and one I hope you will join me on.
